Progressives & Media Demand Higher Taxes

Higher taxes, but only for the "rich"? Who decides who is rich? In this case, the progressives do. It is the sort of bizarre thinking that is so hard for anyone but a socialist to grasp. They really do believe that they have the wisdom and worse, the right to set your salary and of course decide how much money you make or wealth you can amass. Even worse they believe that they in the name of "society" can take your property should they judge you have more than you "need." It's the kind of thinking you often hear from those who "made it" and now want to make sure that no one else has the opportunity. Think about that the next time you hear otherwise brilliant people such as Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and Bono discuss the fact that they want to pay more to help the poor.

Progressive "logic" goes like this:

"You make too much money you rich fat cat! Because of that you are ordered to give it to the government who will give it to those who don't work or do and make less, or are undervalued in what they do. You know, like artists, mimes, teachers and fast food workers!

If you don't like that, we will squash you like a bug, take your property and ruin your life. Oh yeah, remember that stuff in the Constitution about "Bill of Attainder"? For those who don't support the collective and the common good, you don't qualify for an exclusion.

Has it ever occurred to them that there is nothing preventing a teacher from demanding $1 million a year to teach our kids? The problem is that the wage is set by perceived value set by those who pay that salary. And if progressives had their way they would pay all teachers a million and charge you for it by demanding you pay more. And if you think paying em' all a million would improve the quality of US education, I know who you voted for in the 2010 election!
