Personally, I Find nothing wrong with the song. If I was out in the middle of Iraq fighting these insurgants, I would completly understand the frustration in the song.

As to marines fitness, you clearly have no idea of fitness. The bleep test was conducted on the New Zealand rugby teams front row (for you yanks thats the fat boys at the front!) and they got a score of 20 which is an extremely high level of fitness for someone weighing in around 20 stone! So there is no ratio of weight/fitness, so dont spout shite!

I'm from Canada. Yep, our former Prime Minister was a weasle who handled much of our relations with the U.S. in either a namby pamby manner or by turning his head the other way.
I don't agree with the invasion and occupation of Iraq because I believe the U.S. was acting as a lone cowboy (Bush, Bush, Bush) and did not have the support of NATO and the UN in moving forward with this war. Suggestions of weapons of mass destruction were blantantly fabricated in order to manufacture a reason to go and finish that which Georgie's daddy should have finished many years ago. I could go on and on but won't bother as I am certain much of what I am saying is going be met with outrage and fall on deaf ears.
That said, there is no choice now but to stay put, finish what was started and clean up the mess.
Unfortunately many fine young American men and women are being injured and killed on a daily basis in the process. I applaude them and their committment to their country, to democracy and to their roles as soldiers and marines.
The marine in this video, in my opinion, has done nothing wrong. What we see here is no more or no less than that which we see parodied by comedians, in political cartoons. What ever happened to being allowed to have a little edgy fun? Is it distasteful? Certainly. Is it disgraceful? I don't believe so. Did this song incite marines to commit the heinous acts they are accused of? If it did they were lacking in mental capacity and any other little thing might have set them off. But I don't think that's the case. It is unfortunate that this is the subject of backlash because of the incident which subsequently happened.
I support freedom of speech. I believe in the right to express ones self provided it is not inciting hatred. I don't see this video as inciting hatred. One poster said something about 'letting off steam'. Certainly this is a manner of letting off steam which is much more acceptable and appropriate than actually blowing innocent people apart. Satire. After hearing about this song for several days I checked it out. Ok the song may have a few tasteless lyrics in it but I can only imagine what some of the songs, poems, and jokes spread around in the Muslim world about the Americans are about. The only difference is less of us speak their language and many more of them understand English.
As for NOBLE CAUSE well.......
This war was simply wrong from the beginning. A CNN report that aired about an hour ago on CNNI stated that 2500 US troops, 131 UK troops, and 38,000 to 40,000 civilians have died in the 3 years since we have been at war. Quite a price in just human life.
On the financial side no one is really certain what this war has cost. All I can say is it has been too much. The amount of loss will never be recovered and the whole point of the war was founded in false statement to begin with. That's right America we stepped in a huge pile of SH*T when we started this one.
So far the only people profiting from all of this are the defense contractors. The taxpayers ultimately funding this are losing out considerably. Imagine if the money wasted in King George's private war had gone into education and scientific research. That would have made a huge difference in the future of our planet.
Seems to me that a little over 230 years ago the Colonials were fighting to free themselves from a madman named George that was the sone of a madman named George. Well.... those that do not learn from history are truly condemned to repeat it. Only this time we are too stupid to see that the correct solution was missed during the last election.

Why would it be bad for a US company to make money? I'm a defense contractor myself. Guess what? Just think about how much better your life is compared to his.
